Hi, I have a 2.5 year old and I am very concern because its not easy to get her to eat. I have prolonged her with her bottle at nights because what I do is give her milk with heavy loads of oatmeal and any type of fruit that is blended. You can say I make her a smoothie. But now trying to take that from her hoping she will eat more she tends to just wait as long as it takes to get her smoothie. What can I do? |

I have noticed that my kids can always outwait me like you say and it may go on for hours. But in any case, I think what you are feeding your 2.5 year old sounds really healthy and I'm not sure why you would want to take it away from her so she will eat solids. Maybe you can substitute other kinds of smoothies once in awhile. I think she will outgrow the smoothie interest and move on to other food fetishes, so hang in there. In the meantime, if you get tired of making smoothies, I think you could just say no and she will eat eventually when she is hungry. Kids do not starve themselves. It's against their nature. |
